Eastern Mediterranean eatery Barzaari has announced it will close the doors of its Chippendale restaurant at the end of August.
The venue was launched in partnership with Loh Lik Peng of the Unlisted Collection in The Old Clare Hotel in Kensington Street in October last year, taking over the space previously occupied by Jason Atherton’s Kensington Street Social.
A statement released by Barzaari confirmed the closure and said: “owners Darryl Martin and Andrew Jordanou will place their full focus on their original Barzaari Restaurant in Marrickville”.
Barzaari Chippendale provided the food for The Old Clare’s rooftop bar and pub, but it’s been revealed Clayton Wells’ A1 Canteen will be taking over.
The restaurant will host its last service on 31 August. A replacement venue has yet to be announced, so stay tuned.
