This Friday, Swan Street in Richmond will welcome Melbourne’s second Belle’s Hot Chicken site.
The 100-seater is the third in the group, with the flagship Fitzroy location opening in 2014 and the only Sydney site – a nine month pop-up in Barangaroo, launching in November 2015.
Inspired by Australian chef Morgan McGlone’s time in Nashville, Charleston, the Belle’s menu is all about hot chicken, whether it be dark meat, wings or tenders that are range in heat from ‘southern’ through to really ‘f**kin hot’.
McGlone and his partners, Reno Pontonio and Miranda Campbell, are also expanding the Fitzroy location, closing the adjoining Bar Clarine in mid-May to offer more seating for Belle’s diners.
“It’s been amazing to see the Belle’s brand grow and we’re excited to be expanding, bringing hot chicken to more areas of Melbourne and Sydney, and hopefully other states over the next couple of years”, said Campbell.
“This isn’t the end of Bar Clarine, we’re just putting it on ice so we can focus on spreading the Belle’s love and catering to larger crowds in Fitzroy. Bar Clarine will be back, stay tuned.”
