The Italian restaurant and bar will open tomorrow in Fortitude Valley’s bustling King Street precinct.
The 190-seat venue will host a dining area, alongside an open-air deck, bar, and 40-seat private dining space.
Executive Chef Francesco Trucco will spearhead the culinary offering that will showcase his traditional family recipes from Italy.
“Gusto in my home country means taste and we know it also means enthusiasm, which is perfect for the venue we’ve created here,” says Trucco.
“Where I’m from we have an incredible culture around food, everybody can cook – your friends, your Mum, your Grandma – and at Bar Gusto with each dish, I’m sharing the love from my family with families here in Australia.”
The menu will offer traditional wood-fired pizzas by the hand of the venue’s Valoriani Vesuvio Igoo pizza oven, plus pasta, antipasti, seafood dishes, and salads.
Some of the highlights include the Gusto crab meat Gamberoni e Caviale pizza, signature black squid linguine, and Mooloolaba tiger prawns with chilli garlic butter.
The drinks offering will continue the Italian theme with a range of cocktails including the Gusto Aperitivo with Campari, Regal Rogue wild rose, lime, and grapefruit soda.
The wine list will showcase local producers plus a selection of imported Italian blends.
Bar Gusto opens tomorrow and is located at 601 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills.
