BunBar is now open in Sydney’s Manly, but don’t expect your regular fast food fare.
The concept is the brainchild of former Oporto’s owner Gary Linz, and aims to offer healthier options to consumers.
The menu was more than a year in the making, with a plant-based falafel bun one of the core innovations.
As the name implies, buns are a key part of the menu, with grilled rice, lettuce cup and steamed buns completing the offering.
Dishes include a smoked beef brisket option along with grilled chicken and southern fried chicken. Plant-based ‘chicken’ and ‘beef’ wraps will soon debut.
Fries, falafel bites and southern fried chicken bites are available as sides, with the drinks list revolving around cold-pressed juices, a vegan smoothie, spritzes, wine and beer.
BunBar is open seven days a week from 11am until 11pm.
