The team behind Sydney’s iconic Lansdowne Hotel have opened The Shaking Hand (aka Shakes) this week in Canberra.
Inspired by famed venues from the Sunset Strip such as the Viper Room and Rainbow Bar, Shakes is set to be the capital’s go-to live music venue hosting local and international acts.
The bar is serving up a range of Shakey’s pizza both by the slice and whole – think spinach with ricotta and tomato or an original Margherita.
To pair, natural wines, batched cocktails, local beers and frozen margaritas are on pour for those looking to sample a range of different drinks during a visit to the venue.
Set underground, expect a ’90s grunge, pop punk vibe at Shakes, which is decked out with moody lighting and eclectic furniture.
The Shaking Hand is open 4pm until late from Wednesday to Sunday and is located at 1 Akuna Street, Canberra.
