Looking beyond its flagship store in Paddington, Cheekyburger has opened within The Chippendale Hotel.

Known for its American style burgers, the Cheekyburger team has partnered with The Chippendale Hotel’s owner, Brett Strauss to trial the new location.

“Sydney is so fast faced when it comes to their food trends,” said Strauss. “This team-up is very much a beta concept, but we’re really hoping to cement the pop-up location and that Cheekyburger becomes a permanent part of The Chippendale Hotel. We both see Chippendale as a growth area and look forward to sharing our burger experience with more Sydneysiders.”

On offer will be Cheekyburger’s classic burger menu, with options such as the Cheeky Cheeseburger, the Double and Triple Cheeseburgers, the [mu]Shroom burger and the ‘gluten-friendly’ Naked burger. Other menu items include regular, chilli or yam fries, deep fried pickles, buffalo wings and mac n’ cheese.

“We’ve seen the rise in the Sydney burger craze, and I’ve always loved Cheeky’s burgers. We’re pretty excited to see how Chippendale regulars will take to it,” said Strauss.

Chippendale has seen a  number of high profile restaurant openings this year, including a number within the new-look Old Clare Hotel, such as Silvereye, spearheaded by ex-Noma sous chef Sam Miller, and Automata, which has ex-Momofuku Seiobo sous chef, Clayton Wells, at the helm.

A number of top Asian chefs have also been announced for the new dining and lifestyle precinct at Kensington Street in Chippendale, which is set to offer a mix of cuisines including Thai, Singaporean, Malaysian and Japanese.
