Chubby Cheeks is now open in Paddington, offering diners Thai and South-East Asian cuisine.
Located on Oxford Street, the casual-style restaurant is the second venue from Songpol and Lyn Manoonpong, who also own Armchair Collective café in Mona Vale.
“Our vision was to create a space where both locals and foodies from near and far can come and wind down with delicious food and great cocktails,” says Songpol.
Executive chef David Claesson (ex-Glass Brasserie) is running the kitchen alongside head chef Em Meechai (ex-Red Lantern).
“The menu is characterised by a blend of Asian — mainly Thai — influences, combining sweet, spicy and sour flavours,” says Claesson.
Signature dishes include 12-hour smoked Rangers Valley wagyu brisket and seared Hokkaido scallop with betel leaf.
Drinks are inspired by Thai flavours and spices, with a Thai negroni on offer along with a coconut espresso martini. The wine list showcases lighter varietals from Australia, New Zealand and France.
