Comuna Cantina launched a new restaurant, dubbed Comuna City, in Brisbane’s recently opened Dexus Building on Thursday 3 December.
The seventh venue in Tim Johnson’s portfolio, The Corbett Collective, the Comuna City opening comes after Comuna Cantina outgrew its previous home on Albert Lane.
Comuna City will offer the same Latin American-inspired fare and cocktails that Comuna is known for, with three new signature cocktails: crème brulee, lemon meringue and strawberry cheesecake.
The new venue features a fully illuminated 15m Corian bar, DJ booth, alfresco and internal dining spaces with mixed seating options, VIP booths and customisable lighting displays.
“We are incredibly proud to now have three of The Corbett Collective’s venues on a prime corner in Brisbane City and revitalise a previously under-utilised corner of the City to offer Brisbanites a tasteful and authentic Latin American dining experience,” said Johnson.
“Comuna City will capitalise on Brisbane’s beautiful weather and feature primarily alfresco dining whilst incorporating our signature pink and white styling with cutting-edge design features to deliver an experience that will excite diners.
“Although the COVID-19 restrictions were difficult for the entire hospitality industry, it allowed us to plan for the future and the unique experiences we wanted to execute at Comuna City.”
Comuna City sits adjacent to newly opened brother café, Mr Claude, with the original Corbett & Claude Italian restaurant just down the laneway, off Elizabeth Street.
