Continental Deli & Bar has opened a new Sydney location on Phillip Street after expansion plans surfaced earlier in the year.
The new venue offers all the Newtown favourites including tinned cocktails, cheese, charcuterie, sandwiches and more.
“We’re running under the same name because we’re taking what we love in Newtown and bringing it to the CBD,” Michael Nicolian tells Gourmet Traveller. “But it’s not a carbon copy. You tailor things to your environment. It’s a different clientele.”
Fresh pasta has been added to the menu, with dishes including fettucine with Olasagasti tuna and tomato and rigatoni with sausage, broccolini, bottarga and cuttlefish.
The team has also added to their canned cocktail range with the launch of the Ameri-can-o, which joins the Mar-tinny and the Can-hatten. The wine list has been beefed up, offering up a generous range of local and international varieties.
The restaurant features an open 80-seat dining area along with a 16-seat bar located next to the deli counter which displays a range of cured goodness.
Continental CBD is open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner and operating for dinner on Saturday.
