There’s been much buzz about who and what will take over the former Momofuku Seiobo location in The Star Sydney, and the announcement has certainly delivered.
Ele by Federico and Karl will see leading chefs Karl Firla (Oscillate Wildly) and Federico Zanellato (Lumi Dining) team up to create a dining and drinking experience across three spaces.
It marks the second venue from the pair, who are behind Restaurant Leo and Picco Leo.
“This is something we have dreamed of creating for some time, so it is incredible to finally see the wheels in motion,” said the chefs.
Ele promises an interactive and progressive ‘moving feast’ for guests, with courses paired with visual projections and sounds.
Curtains and art installations will separate the bar, the dining room and the chef’s table, which will all seat between 15 and 20 diners.
“Ele introduces a completely new and exciting way for us to showcase our food,” says Zanellato.
“Having the projections, sounds and images around the restaurant is just another way for us to connect deeper with diners so they can immerse themselves further.”
Guests can expect a technique-driven menu inspired by the seasons and a focus on local ingredients.
“Our goal [is] to transform the space to make guests feel they are in a completely different environment when they dine with us,” says Firla.
Ele is slated to open in late February.
