Restaurateurs Christian McCabe and Dave Verheul have finally revealed the new project they’ve been working on for months, Lesa, which is set to open in early August.
Revolving around the concept of a set menu served at a relaxed pace, Lesa is set to open early August.
Guests are invited to select from two or four courses and pick individual dishes, in a move away from share plates.
Menu items include semi-dried potato cacio e pepe, basil and pecorino along with salted bergamot, walnut and koji île flottante.
“Good dining is about creating intimacy and a connection to the common occasion,” says McCabe. “The Lesa dining room is up off the street, a bit more private, and lends itself to spending the evening.”
A separate wine room will be located towards the rear of the restaurant that will house wine McCabe has been collecting over the years.
The wine list will focus on minimal intervention Australian producers alongside Old-World vintages. Sommelier Raffaele Maestrovincenzo will assist McCabe with the wine program.
James Kelly will accompany Verheul in the kitchen, and Drew Green and McCabe will run the floor.
