Industry tradeshow, Foodservice Australia, has announced this year’s event will include a new section targeting bakers and patissiers, called Bakery Zone.
Running from 22 to 24 May at the Royal Hall of Industries and Hordern Pavilion in Sydney’s Moore Park, the new Bakery Zone section, combined with a number of bakery related events, will aim to upskill industry members and connect them with key suppliers.
“Foodservice Australia was already attracting a lot of bakers and pastrycooks, but this new section along with all the special events makes it an absolute must attend event for anyone serious about improving their business,” event director, Tim Collett said.
Related events include the Savour Patissier of the Year, a new national competition comprising four categories: tarts, macarons, eclairs and entremets. The winner with the highest points across all categories will receive a trophy, $10,000 cash and a trip to Hong Kong, training with Marike van Beurden.
Australia’s Best Pie and Pastie competition, a favourite at the annual tradeshow, will return in 2016, with hundreds of entries expected from bakeries around the country, and the Caf School offers visitors the chance to sit in on industry workshops relating to coffee, sandwiches, pizza and the food-to-go sector.
