MAdE Establishment – George Calombaris’ restaurant group – has announced that Mastic will be re-locating to the Mornington Peninsula in 2018.
“We’re excited to take Mastic to the Peninsula, a region that screams ‘good stuff’ in every way,” Calombaris said. “The best local produce, local suppliers within arms’ reach, and fresh air. It makes sense.
“It’s been a dream of mine to share our Mastic store with the local community down there. It will be worth the wait.”
The health-based caf was attached to Hellenic Republic in Kew, and its move will allow the restaurant – often booked out – to increase its capacity.
Mastic closed on 5 March and the official re-opening date will be announced later this year.
Late last year, Calombaris spoke with Hospitality about his growing restaurant empire and how he inspires and motivates the next generation of foodservice professionals. Read what he had to say here.
