A reinvigorated corporate and public food offering will make its mark at this year’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
Atlantic Group, food&desire and GEMA Group have partnered with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) to curate food journeys that will mirror Melbourne’s culinary scene.
AGPC CEO, Andrew Westacott, said this year’s event will provide Grand Prix guests with more innovative dining options than ever before. “We are extremely proud to partner with the best of Melbourne’s culinary community to deliver an unparalleled hospitality experience for our customers,” he says. “The offerings will showcase the very best of Victorian produce and exquisite culinary creations not only to redefine the hospitality experience but reaffirm our position as a leader in the Australian major event space.”
Included in this year’s schedule of off-track culinary moments, Ashley Palmer-Watts and the team from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal will host an exclusive dinner for 48 guests in the Minardi Garage, a first of its kind for Pit Lane. Pre-dinner drinks will be served on the podium followed by a sit down, four course menu of iconic Dinner dishes including the meat fruit, beef royale, lamington and famous ice-cream trolley, with wines expertly paired by Pernod Ricard.
Trackside gastronomic experience, M-Lane, will see food trucks positioned alongside street art and live entertainment. AGPC’s culinary advisor, Melbourne chef Shane Delia will dish up indulgent kebabs, while Miso Fresh will provide a modern Japanese option for the health conscious.
In Heineken Village, situated next door to M-Lane, San Antone will offer smokehouse flavours, pairing sticky, smoked meats with seasonal sides, fries and desserts. George Calombaris’ Jimmy Grants will bring a Greek Dining experience to the track, serving favourites such as the Mr Papadopoulos Souva of slow-cooked, marinated lamb, chips, homemade mustard aioli, barbecued onions and fresh parsley.
At F1 Central teams of baristas will battle it out to win the Global Barista Challenge presented by Café Culture, while daily BBQ & Smoked Meats Workshops by Meatstock will showcase celebrity chefs and cooking demonstrations.
Parc Chalet presented by The Emerson brings together an upbeat cocktail bar and vibrant garden, with GEMA Group providing an all-day grazing menu. At the Renault Torque Bar, the Atlantic Group will dish up all-day grazing.
The Atlantic Group and food&desire, together with AGPC culinary advisor, Shane Delia, have created interactive and customised dishes within the corporate suites. The handcrafted and tailored dishes cater to the specific needs of each corporate hospitality suite to provide an experience that features the best Victorian produce and one-off creations.
General public are able to purchase tickets to premium hospitality areas and shared suites. These include The Lounge, Race Cube, The Park, and the Pit Entry Victory Suite.
