Rooftop bar and dining venue Heroes has opened its doors in Melbourne, offering Hawker-style barbecue, karaoke and cocktails over three levels.
From the team behind Melbourne venues Fancy Hank’s and Good Heavens, Heroes will serve an Asian-inspired snack menu of barbecue plates and skewers.
“After a year of planning and building, we were so eager to finally open the doors over the weekend,” says executive chef Mike Patrick. “So far so good with a fantastic response from customers.”
Patrick, along with head chef Alicia Cheong, have curated the menu, which features chicken wings cooked on the grill and chicken, lamb and beef skewers cooked over coals.
The menu also includes brisket and beef tongue, which is smoked at Fancy Hank’s, located across the road.
The cocktail menu, curated by Oscar Eastmen, is inspired by Southeast Asian flavours, while six rotating taps boast a range of local craft and international beers, plus more than 20 brews by the bottle. The wine list has also been devised to pair with the smoky bar food.
