Chef Guillaume Brahimi and CEO of Merivale, Justin Hemmes, have been presented with top gongs at this year’s GQ Man of the Year awards.
Guillaume Brahimi, who operates his eponymously named restaurant in Paddington, was named GQ Chef of the Year, a title which fellow chef Colin Fassnidge claimed in 2013. Matt Moran of ARIA Restaurant won the 2014 Food Force Man of the Year.
Justin Hemmes, CEO of Sydney hospitality group Merivale, claimed the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year title, which last year was taken out by the founder of Gelato Messina, Nick Palumbo.
The awards were this year presented at The Ivy in Sydney, with other non-food related categories including Woman of the Year, Actor of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Man of Style and Media Personality of the Year.
