Kings Cross Distillery opens its doors to the public today on Macleay Street in Sydney’s Potts Point.
The split-level venue doubles as a cocktail bar/gin distillery, with an expansive cocktail offering and Mediterranean-inspired menu.
“This venue has been a long time in the making and we’ve been hard at work building a gorgeous place for people to enjoy phenomenal cocktails, the culinary gin inspired delights and the warm and friendly atmosphere provided by our staff,” says Managing Director Khare Aoun.
The former gambling den and adult bookstore has been transformed into a speakeasy-type venue, with leather booths, a front bar, back bar and scattered seating. There’s also a spot for guests to watch the gin distilling process.
Signature cocktails include the Sin and Tonique with floral gin; Pepperation Makes Perfect, an Old Fashioned with savoury notes and the Impeachment, which showcases a smoky peach flavour with bubbles.
Sommelier Ben Moechtar has curated the wine list and the venue also has an extensive whisky library.
The food offering covers small plates including garlic prawns, antipasto meze boards, meatballs in tomato sauce and caviar bumps available in 10g serves.
Bookings are now open.
