Mike McEnearney has brought his Kitchen by Mike concept to The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
The chef’s signature lunch spread of responsibly sourced proteins, veg-heavy dishes, sides, and desserts are now available at a pop-up venue, offering gallery-goers a wholefoods-based food experience.
“It’s an honour to be bringing our love of food to our nation’s capital,” he says.
“Good food and art are two of life’s simple pleasures and we’re so thrilled to be able to serve up wholesome and delicious meals within one of Australia’s great cultural hubs.
“Our ethos is all about food for the people. It’s egalitarian style dining at its best – simple, healthy and delicious. We can’t wait to welcome people into our new home within the NGA, to experience what we’re all about.”
The menu will evolve with the seasons, with launch dishes covering roasted lamb shoulder, an avocado and heirloom tomato tartine, and a beetroot and fennel salad.
Wine and beer options are made by Australian producers, with tea by Apotheca by Anthia, coffee from Five Senses, sodas from StrangeLove, and cold-pressed juices from Nectar.
Kitchen by Mike is located on the lower ground floor of the gallery and is open from 11am until 4pm daily.
