The former operator of a La Porchetta pizza outlet in Wagga Wagga is facing the Fair Work Ombudsman in court.
Little Italy Wagga Wagga Pty Ltd was the operator of the Baylis Street venue, which ceased operating last year after the franchise agreement ended.
However, the company was investigated after receiving a request for assistance from a 20-year-old worker.
It’s alleged the employee was underpaid annual leave entitlements upon termination of her employment.
A compliance notice was issued requiring the company to calculate and back-pay the worker’s entitlements.
The Fair Work Ombudsman is now seeking a penalty against Little Italy Wagga Wagga of up to $33,000.
The Ombudsman is also seeking a court order for the company to back-pay the employee plus interest.
