Lucas Restaurants is stepping into the delivery game with the launch of Room Service.
Food and drink from Chin Chin, Baby Pizza, Kisumé and Hawker Hall is available to customers who live within 4km of each restaurant. Delivery from Kisumé is available from 31 July.
Lucas Restaurants CEO Chris Lucas says the initiative will help keep local and visa staff in jobs during the lockdown period.
“We don’t want to replace the traditional restaurant experience and ultimately wish to see people enjoying food in our beautiful venues when it’s safe to do so again,” he says.
“But as we find ourselves back in lockdown for a little longer, we have launched our own delivery service.”
Customers will be charged $5 per delivery and the group also has plans to implement a loyalty program.
“Adopting our own delivery service means we can have a fair flat fee, which means both our restaurants and our guests win,” says Lucas.
Takeaway at all venues will continue to be available, with healthcare workers receiving a 50 per cent discount.
