The annual Food for Thought charity dinner is back for another year and, for the first time, will host two dinners: one in Melbourne and another in Sydney.

With the support of Beer Deluxe, the dinners aim to raise awareness around anxiety and depression, trying to break down the stigma surrounding mental health. The dinners will also help raise funds for beyondblue with 100 percent of profits going to the charity.

Founder of Food for Thought and of Food + Wine pop up, Mal Meiers, has put together a group of leading young chefs to contribute to the cause, including Aaron Ward from Sixpenny, Bennelong’s Troy Crisante, Peter Gunn from IDES and Attica’s Matt Boyle.

“In our industry we do witness the effects that long hours, high pressure work environments and an often ‘just deal with it’ attitude can have, causing those suffering from anxiety and depression not to speak out. Having personally faced this, I felt a huge importance to support this cause,” he said.

Producers including Flinders Island Lamb, Cape Grim beef, Ora King Salmon together with local beer and wine producers are supporting the cause.

Tickets are $150 per person and include a seven course set menu with matching beverages.
