Matteo Downtown, the sister venue to the Double Bay Italian restaurant, has reopened on Bond Street in Sydney’s CBD.
The relaunch follows after the appointment of new Executive Chef Giovanni Astolfoni, who has curated a northern Italian ristorante menu.
Joining Astolfoni is Head Chef Adam Szynankiewicz and Pastry Chef Layla Giovannoni.
In the kitchen are two woodfire ovens from Italy that will be used to make Roman-style pizza as well as specialty dishes such as 1.2kg t-bone and 1.5kg tomahawk steaks.
Fresh handmade pasta and a rotisserie with traditional porchetta will also be apart of the offering.
Other highlights include Caprese Di Gamberi, house made cannelloni, Brodetto di pesce and Le Nostre pizza made with minimal yeast and flour.
The drinks list features a selection of spritzes, four Negronis, Italian spirits and small-batch liqueur.
Matteo Downtown is open Tuesday to Friday from 12pm until 11pm and Saturday 5pm until late.
