Melbourne’s The Long Room will close its doors on 28 January ahead of an extensive $4 million renovation and rebrand.

Located on Collins Street, The Long Room has been in operation for 10 years and was one of the CBD’s first late night establishments.

Scheduled to reopen in May 2017, interior designers, Hecker Guthrie and creative design team, Studio Round are working on the renovation, which will also involve a rename and  an overhaul of the food and beverage offering.

When it reopens, the establishment will operate seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails late into the night, with Champagne brunches hosted on weekends.

General manager Natalie Butler said “Melbourne is an incredible city, and a true hub for dining and drinking destinations. To keep up with this movement, The Long Room must undergo a thorough refurbishment to ensure that it continues to prevail as one of Melbourne’s most exclusive destinations. We’re incredibly excited for what the next era holds.”
