Coal Blooded Griller is set to open on 1 October. The new venue, located in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton, will serve meats from a custom-built smoker.
Curated by Josh Monteiro (ex Changz Canteen, Changz Hot Sauce), the menu includes a range of smoked meats from a custom-built BBQ pit, burgers on locally made milk buns and sides to share, with a heavy focus on weekly rotating smokey specials and rotating local breweries running limited edition beers on the taps.
Sides like smoked and fried buffalo wings served with Mornington Peninsulas Dillicious pickles and Chipotle flame grilled corn with coriander butter and Pecorino Romano are made to share. The bar will offer tinnies and pints as well as smokey pickle backs and a smoked jalapeno popper loaded Bloody Mary.
“We’re aiming to give Brighton a unique offering that isn’t quite what you would expect in this part of Melbourne, our massive smoker was custom built to pump out quality smoked meats and will be running 24/7 with pit masters on site all through the night watching the fire,”says Monteiro.
