Melbourne’s largest outdoor floating bar and restaurant Arbory Afloat will return to the Yarra River on Monday 26 October, if the city reopens as planned.
Looking to give the locked down city a confidence boost, the bar and eatery will welcome Melburnians in line with social distancing guidelines for outdoor dining venues.
The Arbory Afloat has been reimagined for 2020, drawing inspiration from Australian beach houses. The open-air, 69-meter vessel will contain two bars, an upper pool deck, undercover dining area and a docking station for guests arriving by boat. The fit-out will feature wicker furniture, eclectically patterned upholstery, lime-washed timber finishes, a mix of natural and vibrant coastal colours and greenery.
Executive Chef Nick Bennett’s menu will offer classic and contemporary dishes, giving local produce and ingredients a Mediterranean twist.
The Four Pillars Pink Gin collaboration will return, alongside an extensive list of cocktails, craft beers, and local and international wine produces.
This year’s arts programming will respond to the current climate by celebrating local art, performance, music and culture. Tickets for the schedule of all-inclusive, sit-down events — including a celebration of the Spring Racing Carnival — will go on sale in October.
Arbory Afloat Beach House will open on Monday 26 October from 11am to 1am daily for bookings and walk-ins.
