The team behind Melbourne restaurants Dexter and Takeaway Pizza have revealed their next venture will be a three-level restaurant and bar in Melbourne’s CBD.
Located on Swanston Street, the multi-level venue will feature a ground floor restaurant called Cheek and a late-night bar, dubbed Peaches.
Chef and co-director Tom Peasnell says the menu at Cheek will have a heavy focus on meat, much like the menu at Dexter.
“[We’re] showcasing Australia’s best meat, which we’re known for [at Dexter],” he told Hospitality.
“We’ve got a massive, dry-aged fridge that seperates the kitchen to the dining area, so you can see into the kitchen through the fridge.”
Peasnell is currently putting the final touches on the menu and is developing signature dishes using pork jowl and beef cheek.
Late-night bar Peaches will span across the middle level and the rooftop, and will be painted in bright peach hues.
“With Peaches, it’s all about the booze and fun and dancing,” says Peasnell.
With the build near completion, the team are on track to open Cheek and Peaches in the next month.
