Held in Sydney on 26 September, the Restaurant Leaders Summit saw approximately 250 industry members head to Doltone House to hear from some of Australia’s most accomplished hospitality professionals.
Topics ranged from Building a Winning Database and Funding Your Growth Strategy to Social Media – How to Hold onto the Hype; and Essential Skills for Successful Chefs.
There were also presentations by Ameer El-Issa, founder of the hugely popular mobile food concept, Knafeh; and Jake Smyth, co-owner of Mary’s and The Unicorn, as well as Q&A sessions with head chef at Oakridge Winery, Matt Stone; and owner of Wasabi restaurant in Noosa, Danielle Gjestland.
Panellists included Tom Pash, CEO of the Rockpool Dining Group (what was Urban Purveyor Group at the time); John Fink, creative director at The Fink Group; Kate Tones, group HR manager at Merivale; Warren Turnbull, founder of Chur Burger; Erez Gordon, co-owner of Bishop Sessa; Alex Herbert, chef and food consultant; Lisa van Haandel, co-owner of the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay and Longrain in Melbourne; and plenty more.
