Neil Perry has confirmed Jade Temple closed its doors on 30 June.
Part of Rockpool Dining Group, the Cantonese restaurant was only in business for a year and received a mixed bag of reviews over its lifespan.
The Bridge Street venue altered its offering earlier in the year in an attempt to attract diners, incorporating Thai and Korean dishes, which went on to make up half of the Cantonese restaurant’s menu.
“The food’s awesome, but it just didn’t resonate with the dining public,” Perry told Good Food.
Perry also said the reason behind the closure could be attributed to the rent, high staff levels and formal look of the dining room.
There are no plans to open a new restaurant in Jade Temple’s place, but the group will hold on to the space for events.
