Sydney’s love for burgers is showing no signs of slowing down with Neil Perry announcing that he will be opening a second Burger Project store this November.
The new store will be located at Sydney’s MLC Centre with breakfast, lunch and dinner options available.
The Sydney-based restaurateur flagged the idea of opening further outlets earlier this year following the opening of his first Burger Project store in November 2014, adding that he has received numerous requests to open additional stores since the flagship store launched.
The opening of Burger Project marked previously unchartered for Perry, who said that the idea came about due to the popularity of Rockpool Bar and Grill’s burger.
In addition to Perry and Warren Turnbull of Churburger, chef Paul Camilleri of Banc fame has become the latest fine dining chef to branch out into the burger scene.
Camilleri opened Eat Burger in Cronulla late last month, serving up the likes of slow cooked pork belly burgers marinated in char siu, with pickled radish, peanut slaw and chilli lime mayo. Eat Burger has already proven to be a welcome addition to Cronulla’s food scene with the store serving 1,000s of burgers in its first week.
