Entries are now open for the annual Nestl Golden Chef’s Hat Award, Australia’s longest running culinary competition which is this year celebrating its 50th anniversary.
This year the competition is offering chefs the chance to win a culinary trip to North America.
Participating chefs will cook against their peers, be mentored by culinary instructors and have access to a national network of professional chefs.
Those chefs successful in their region’s heat will get to cook-off at the National Final in Melbourne, held on the show floor at Fine Food Australia this September.
Entries are open until Friday 6 May, and are open to residents of Australia who are currently in the culinary profession and aged between 16 and 25 years of age on 30 September 2016.
Last year, Amanda Polsen (24), apprentice chef at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, and Georgia Harrison (22), apprentice chef at the National Press Club, took out the crown, earning themselves a food safari experience in South Africa.
