What was once a 90s Art Deco florist in Darlinghurst, Sydney, has transformed into The Mayflower.
The cafe takes inspiration from the building’s heritage, with a carefully curated menu and elegant interiors. Open for breakfast and lunch, the venue will dish up caviar and truffle, alongside barista-quality coffee.
The menu includes dishes such as crudités with yoghurt, macadamia, dukkha, parsley oil, and pickled vegetables; Truffle bucatini served with Parmigiano Reggiano and shaved black winter truffle; and Kingfish sashimi served with pomelo, nori paste and dashi. An exclusive caviar service is also on offer, with Ars Italica Osietra Caviar and Black Pearl Beluga Caviar served alongside blinis, crème Fraiche, egg mimosas and chives.
The interiors reflects the venues past: a floral theme is brought to life colourful and unique interior pieces such as onyx stone tables, resin floral pendant lights, abstract murals and floral installations.
Co-founders Christian Lee and Kevin Ly (formerly Brewristas) are behind the latest addition to Darlinghurst.
“The Mayflower is located in a stunning heritage building which was a florist in the 90’s so naturally, and we wanted the new space to pay tribute to its original roots,” the duo says. “We’ve focused on fine food and great produce paired with unique interiors to create the ultimate cafe environment. Customers can expect stunning interior details throughout the space and an exquisite cafe menu. Food brings people together, and we are excited to welcome customers into The Mayflower.”
The Mayflower is located at 2/303A Liverpool St, Darlinghurst and will be open for dining in and takeaway 7am–3:30pm, seven days a week.
