Melbourne’s South Yarra suburb is set to welcome new multi-storey Italian venue Stella this September.
Owner Ali Mousavi aims to combine traditional Italian food philosophies with a contemporary Australian twist in an all-encompassing hospitality experience.
“Stella, named after my daughter, will be a destination that combines Italian hospitality and culture with a modern Australian take — a mixture of charm and elegance with a warm, inviting and vibrant atmosphere,” says Mousavi.
“We will be the neighbourhood local [that is] familiar, welcoming and known for dishing up delicious Italian fare with something for everyone.”
The heritage-listed site is split up into multiple levels that cover a basement wine cellar with a 10-seat private dining room, a ground-floor dining area, first floor and rooftop bar.
Joining Mousavi is Executive Chef John Park (Vue de monde, 400 Gradi, Ines Wine Bar) and Venue Manager Paul Mitchell (Grossi Florentino, 400 Gradi).
Guests can expect a menu of house-made pasta with seasonal sauces, regional Italian dishes, small share plates and desserts.
A variety of pizzas will be made with the restaurant’s signature dough recipe and cooked in a sculptura Marana Forni oven.
The beverage list showcases local and Italian wines, a cellar filled with reserves and signature classic cocktails.
Stella is located on 427 Chapel Street, South Yarra.
