Last night seven teams competed in the first-ever 2022 Plantation Rum Cup.
The team from Teresa Cocktail Bar in Napier New Zealand won the competition with their cocktail The Boccioni’s Punch.
The concoction used Plantation Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple rum which was enhanced with yuzu vinegar and garnished with a coffee and shitake cloud.
The panelist of judges consisted of Proof and Company’s Charlie Ainsbury, Sydney-based drinks Editor and Writer Sam Bygrave and Apollonia’s Alissa Gabriel.
Bar Director Andrea Marseglia, Bartender Josh Loman and Sara Mazzucco were commended on their technique, hosting skills and cohesive team presentation.
The competition victors won a prize trip to Barbados and will visit the West Indies Rum Distillery.
Geelong’s Gorge Camorra and Tim Arnott from 18th Amendment were voted as the People’s Choice Award winners with their cocktail Breakfast with Pierre.
All finalists from Australia and New Zealand including Santé Cocktail Bar, 18th Amendment, Mr. Brightside Rooftop Bar, The Howling Owl, Teresa Cocktail Bar, Pineapple on Parnell and The Lobo made an outstanding effort.
