Queen Chow chef Patrick Friesen has left the Merivale group to join Brisbane’s Howard Smith Wharves.
Friesen has taken on the role of executive chef of the precinct, which will feature a range of eateries from the likes of Jonathan Barthelmess and Matt Yazbek.
“I like to cook simply and lightly and for the people I love the most,” says Friesen. “I’m excited … to explore the produce and seafood of the Sunshine State.
David Finlayson has been appointed culinary director of Howard Smith Wharves, and will oversee the food and beverage offerings for Felons Brewing Co,. Mr Percival’s and a restaurant which is yet to be announced.
Damien Styles (The Fish House) is joining Mr Percvial’s as head chef and Michael Hardy (The Star Gold Coast) has been appointed head chef of Felons Brewing Co.
Venues will begin to open from late-November.
