Ovolo Woolloomooloo has welcomed the opening of Alibi restaurant, which boasts the first 100-per-cent plant-based menu in an Australian hotel.
US chef Matthew Kenney has designed Alibi’s offering and is renowned for his plant-based menus, with Ovolo group executive chef Kasper Christensen overseeing the new restaurant and seasonal menu changes.
“The quality of ingredients is incredible,” says Kenney. “People [can] expect a beautiful, bright modern interior with lots of seating options plus a globally inspired menu.”
The menu is designed for sharing and features signature dishes including kimchi dumplings with sesame and ginger foam, heirloom tomato and zucchini lasagne with pistachio pesto and kelp noodles with crispy olives.
Dessert options include hibiscus strawberry cheesecake with lime curd, vanilla, shortbread and sorrel gel plus a deconstructed tiramisu with frozen almond Chantilly.
The venue features an extensive cocktail list and sommelier Chris Morrison has curated the wine list.
Alibi is open Tuesday to Friday for dinner and lunch and dinner on Saturday.
