Bowl.R has launched a permanent store, following a successful pop-up in Coogee last summer. The poke and mylk bar opened in Balmain on 21 October, offering customers Japanese-inspired poke and vegan soft serve.
“We were overwhelmed and humbled by the positive feedback we received from customers last summer, it inspired us to make the commitment to secure the ideal location to launch our first store,” says Bowl.R co-founder Melissa Taylor.
Diners can choose from range of à la carte options or build their own bowl with fillings including ocean trout, yellowfin tuna, chicken or miso cauliflower and sweet potato.
Alongside the poke bar, Bowl.R has a selection of made-to-order salad bowls and snacks including ‘gaucamame’ — a mash-up of avocado and edamame beans served with tortilla chips.
The new venue also features a mylk bar serving up dairy-, sugar- and gluten-free smooth bowls and vegan soft serve ‘vice cream’. Smoothies include the Bada Bing, with banana, coconut flesh, espresso, raw cacao and coconut mylk, while fresh coconut spiked with a shot of espresso is also on offer.
Bowl.R will dish up weekend brunches beginning on Saturday 28 October. Think house-made granola; banana bread with spiced butter; and a Mediterranean bowl with dukkah soft boiled eggs, kale, hummus, labne, olives, roasted chickpeas, house-made sauerkraut, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds and sourdough.
Bowl.R is open 12pm–8pm on weekdays and 8am–8pm on weekends.
