Victoria’s Prahran Market is gearing up to host the annual Say Cheese Festival for the eighth year.
There will be four virtual events held from 15-17 October which will cover everything from masterclasses to cheese tastings.
Maker & Monger’s Anthony Femia will run a 13-cheese class with Diana Chan that will delve into local cheeses from Victoria.
Attendees are able to register for free and purchase a tasting box for $55 to enjoy all the tastes and textures alongside Femia and Chan.
Karen Martini is set to hero Gruyere and cheddar in a confit garlic tart class and Simon Toohey will create a vegan mac and cheese.
The festivities will be rounded out with a ‘grilled cheese invitational’ hosted by Pastry Chef Darren Purchese.
Chefs Jessi Singh and Zacchary Bird along with Writer Dani Valent will create a toastie for a judging panel that includes previous winner Jerry Mai (Pho Nom, Bia Hoi) and cheese expert Femia, who will judge on name, texture and taste.
Melburnians will be able to purchase the toasties for $45; but there will be just 50 packs available.
