Two new dining venues are slated to open in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building, marking the first time late-night operations will launch in the building’s 120-year history.
A champagne parlour and bar, dubbed Reign at the QVB, will open on 15 March and serve more than 150 Champagnes and sparkling wines. Share plates will be on offer, with dishes including king brown mushroom and pork fried rice or a thyme and honey ice cream sandwich with plums.
Esquire Drink + Dine will open on 22 March on level two of the QVB. The venue takes cues from a New York supper club and will offer modern Australian cuisine including crumbed sweetbreads, whole roast chicken and 250g Grainge signature MB3+ rump cap. There will be 100 wines on offer along with a range of whiskeys and cocktails.
Damien Worthington (QT Hotels, The Winery) has been appointed executive chef of both venues and Matthew Beaumont (The Star, Merivale) will take on the role of group general manager of beverage. Patricia Salomo (Haru, Merivale, The Star) has assumed the role of general manager.
Reign is open weekdays from 11am and weekends from 10am. The venue is open until midnight Monday to Wednesday and 2am Thursday to Sunday.
Esquire is open every day from midday until midnight Monday to Wednesday and 2am Thursday to Sunday.
