Chef and restaurateur Mike McEnearney has confirmed his Sydney CBD venue No.1 Bent Street will close for 10 days in April. The closure will allow time for the venue to undergo a refresh with McEnearney telling Broadsheet, “It will totally change in April. People have until the end of April to come here for the last time before it’s given a refresh.”
No.1 Bent Street, which opened in early 2016, entered voluntary administration on 29 November when administrators HoganSprowles. Creditors then met to decide the business’ future on 11 December, with news coming on 28 January that creditors had voted for the deed of arrangement.
At the time McEnearney said a number of business pressures — included disruption due to the light rail development, the launch of Barangaroo and a waning interest in expensive lunches among city diners — resulted in the decision to enter administration.
Details about the rebrand are yet to be announced.
