The Ruinart Sommelier Challenge is now open to Australian professionals, with the winner securing a business class trip to France to train at Maison Ruinart.
Applications are now open to registered Sommelier Members of Sommeliers Australia, who can apply online until 22 February.
25 applicants will be selected to move on to the next round which consists of a blind tasting of four wines along with a technical lecture and lunch with winemaker Caroline Fiot.
“We are committed to supporting the global sommelier community through career development and are pleased to work with Sommeliers Australia for the sixth year running,” says Fiot. “I am thrilled to return to Australia to discover the high level of competition following on from the 2018 challenge.”
The winner will be announced on 18 March at Flying Fish at The Star and receive their prize, which includes four days in Reims, France, the opportunity to network with peers and producers, and of course, sample rare tastings.
