Sanpellegrino has unveiled the Australian judging panel for the Young Chef 2020 competition.
Peter Gilmore (Quay, Bennelong), Jock Zonfrillo (Restaurant Orana, Bistro Blackwood), Danielle Alvarez (Fred’s), Dan Hunter (Brae) and Christine Manfield (chef, restaurateur and pop-up extraordinaire) have been named as judges.
The chefs will judge the regional semi-finals of the global competition in August and act as mentors to the 10 semi-finalists.
In other news, Sanpellegrino has announced a partnership with Parabere Forum to encourage women to enter the competition.
Stefano Marini, Sanpellegrino international business unit director, says the company would like to see more female chefs represented in each region and will aim to have a gender-balanced 2020 global jury.
Applications for chefs under 30 are open until 30 April 2019 with semi-finalists announced in May.
