Sydney’s Sauce Brewing Co has opened its first interstate venue in Cairns.
The Marrickville-based brewer chose the location due to Cairns’ sunny weather and local appetite for craft beer.
The new venue features a 10-hectolitre brewery, a 400-capacity venue and a bottle shop on Lake Street.
“Our expansion into the far north of Queensland is a good way to extend the brand and get more people experiencing Sauce up close and personal,” says Founder and CEO Mike Clarke.
Chef Kashi Emery has designed the menu which revolves around local produce and classic brewpub dishes such as burgers, fish and chips, steak and chicken schnitzel.
But there’s also some signature dishes on offer including trout ceviche with chilli, lime, orange and lemon zest and a pulled pork burger.
The venue has 18 beers on tap plus guest taps and a revolving selection of small batch beers.
On the alternate drinks front, wines, spirits and cocktails are also available.
Sauce Brewing Cairns is open Thursday to Sunday from 11am until late.
