NSW based wholesale coffee roaster, Schibello Caff? has completed its dual acquisition to acquire the business and intellectual property assets of Cleanskin Coffee Co and Artecaffe Coffee Roasters.
Cleanskin Coffee Co, based 30 minutes North of Brisbane is a speciality coffee roaster established in 2008, and Artecaffe Coffee Roasters, located in Hornsby on Sydney’s north shore, is a premium artesan coffee roaster established in 2005.
The acquisition will see Schibello:
- Increase its roasting throughput by 50 percent to 728,000 kg (pa);
- Increase its strong presence in commercial coffee sales channels and established foothold in Brisbane and Sydney speciality markets;
- Gain access to boutique coffee based products “Cold Brew RTD’s, Hario brand & consumer based products;
- Demonstrate an immediate EBIT uplift with a combined forecast c.$3m contribution to EBIT in FY16;
Schibello’s CEO Ross Schinella said that both acquisitions generate immediate synergies representative to enhanced EBIT, increased supply-side scale and vertical integration opportunity, and significantly increases Schibello’s coffee roasting capacity in NSW & QLD.
“In addition to these attributes, Cleanskin Coffee Co complements and extends the Company’s existing market penetration by providing the Group with a specialist coffee brand to grow scale in the ever increasing Brisbane, Gold Coast & Northern NSW regions,” says Schinella. “Artecaffe adds to the strength of the specialty market in NSW and both acquisitions allow Schibello to stay in a position ahead of our competitors in an ever changing & dynamic industry.”
