The team behind Potts Point cafe Room Ten and Fishbowl Sashimi have expanded to Bondi with the opening of Side Room.
Located on Campbell Parade, the concept came about after Fishbowl Sashimi moved to a larger site, leaving space for a new venture.
“A lot of our customers in Potts Point are from Bondi, and we’re good friends with the Fishbowl guys who used to occupy the site before moving into a larger-format store,” says co-owner Nathan Dalah. “Plus, we saw it as a good opportunity to reach a new audience.”
Side Room’s menu covers sandwiches, whole bowls (choice of protein + greens, spiced grains, vegan cashew cheese, house vinaigrette and native herb mix), native smoothies and coffee from Mecca.
“The people here love a quality product that’s healthy and delicious and that’s what we see ourselves delivering, which is why we’ve incorporated smoothies and whole bowls on the menu as well as some Room Ten staples,” says co-owner Andrew Hardjasurdarma.
Menu highlights include the OG Acai with Pic’s peanut butter and a spiced lamb whole bowl with a tabouli mix of cucumber, parsley, tomato and coriander with a sumac and yoghurt dressing.
For early morning commuters, Side Room is also offering up breakfast options including the Bingo toast with banana, peanut butter, walnuts, cinnamon and honey.
Find Side Room at 180-186 Campbell Parade Bondi Beach. The cafe is open from 7am-5pm every day.
