A new bar–restaurant concept, Society Di Catania, has opened in Potts Point, Sydney. The venue — from the restaurateur behind Society Pizzeria Bondi, Johnathan Faro — combines urban style with bold Sicilian flavour. Unlike Faro’s Bondi store, Society Di Catania is bar, wine-room, cucina and pizzeria in one.
Signature pizza dishes are offered alongside handmade pastas, chargrilled meats and seafood with salmoriglio dressings, osso buco ragu, Marcantonio pizza, gnocchi con funghi, and classic Italian dolce. The drinks list includes Sicilian varietals like Nero D’Avola and Nerello Mascalese, as well as artisan gin and cocktail, such as the Marco Polo which balances ginger and guava with vodka and lemon.
The restaurant’s space offers a relaxed atmosphere and minimalist interior design with Missoni wall hangings and oversized art featuring classic Italian hand gestures.
The horseshoe layout includes large communal dining tables, a sleek white marble pizza bar and smaller bar-side tables for intimate get togethers.
