Hospitality group Solotel has announced it will extend the 5.75 per cent wage increase to include staff not included in the award and minimum rates of pay.
It comes after the Fair Work Commission’s announcement of a 5.75 per cent increase to Australia’s award and minimum rates of pay from 1 July.
It will see the national minimum wage increased to $882.80 per week or $23.23 per hour, applied from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2023.
“We’re incredibly appreciative of our staff and the amazing experiences that they deliver every day for our guests, this is one of the ways we can show that,” says CEO of Solotel Elliot Solomon.
The Solotel portfolio spans 26 venues, and includes venues such as Sydney’s The Clock, The Golden Sheaf, Barangaroo House, The Bank, North Bondi Fish, Aria, and Chiswick.
Earlier this year, Solotel announced its new strategy to attract talent for the company’s future growth.
The strategy also included the new rebrand, to position itself as ‘A Family of Venues’ and new company values: enabling growth, cultivating creativity, and create unity.
The hospitality group is also currently recruiting for multiple roles, and has implemented an incentives program for existing staff to refer candidates.
