Not-for-profit Sydney restaurant Song Kitchen has appointed a new chef.
Elizabeth Mason has joined the CBD restaurant, introducing a new Middle Eastern-influenced menu that showcases Australian produce.
Mason previously worked as a sous chef for Stevie Parle before moving to Hong Kong to take on the role of head chef at 121 BC in Soho.
New menu items include chicken liver pate with candied orange and red lentil flatbread along with a roast duck salad with cucumber, barberry, chervil and date.
Blue swimmer crab potato gnocchi with brown butter and a slow-roasted lamb neck with preserved lemon, smoked spelt and tomato jam are just some of the highlights available for mains.
Dessert include rosewater meringue and pistachio ice cream sandwich with salted caramel alongside dark chocolate pudding with spiced espresso mascarpone and honeycomb.
