Speakeasy Group will join Chef Scott Pickett and Publican Craig Shearer to usher in a new beginning for The Continental Sorrento in Victoria.
The venue is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation and will open its doors in 2022.
The latest development on the project sees the appointment of Speakeasy Group to consult on the design and delivery of the drinks offering across the hotel.
Speakeasy is behind acclaimed cocktail venues in Sydney and Melbourne including Eau De Vie and Nick and Nora’s as well as online educational platform Ananas.
“We wanted to bring the best of Melbourne hospitality together to create an all-star team for what will no doubt be a legacy project for everyone involved,” says Shearer.
Bar specialists from Speakeasy will work with the venue over a two-year period, with the team changing the drinks list on a seasonal basis.
Kayla Reid will play a key role in shaping the beverage menu and currently holds the title of Australian Bar Manager of the Year.
“The Conti is such an iconic location and I cannot wait to come up with what we are hoping will be the signature drinks for this unbelievable venue for years to come,” says the bartender.
Guests can expect a cocktail offering that’s inspired by the surrounds of the building along with a number of drinks influenced by cocktails found at Nick and Nora’s.
The official opening date for The Conti will be announced shortly.
