Hospitality businesses across Victoria and Tasmania were recognised for their successes in the Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence on Monday 14 August.

The winners across this year’s major categories included:

  • Estelle by Scott Pickett, Northcote — Restaurant of the Year;
  • Pearl & Co, Hobart — Café of the Year;
  • The Point, Albert Park — Caterer of the Year;
  • Mark Haynes, Marriner Group — Lifetime Achiever Award;
  • Mures, Hobart — Consumer Vote Award, Tasmania;
  • The Meat & Wine Co, Southbank — Consumer Vote Award, Tasmania.

In addition to receiving major awards, Estelle by Scott Pickett also won the Award for Fine Dining Restaurant whilst Pearly & Co won the Award for Café Dining in Tasmania. The Point was also successful in winning the Award for best Wedding Caterer.

R&CA CEO Juliana Payne congratulated each of the finalists and winners of the Awards on behalf of the Association.

“The Awards for Excellence is a wonderful opportunity to properly recognise and congratulate each of the businesses who have delivered outstanding customer service and memorable culinary experiences for thousands of customers throughout the year,” says Payne.

“All of the businesses acknowledged as part of today’s Awards for Excellence are helping to the way in promoting Victoria and Tasmania’s hospitality sectors to the rest of Australia and indeed the world.

“The thriving hospitality sectors in Victoria and Tasmania are an essential part of what makes visiting both these states so attractive to potential domestic and international tourists who consistently rank dining out as one of their favourite experiences.”

Many of the winning businesses will also compete at the national Awards for Excellence to be held at Peninsula on Monday 30 October.
