An all new restaurant guide complied from guidebooks and online review sites across the globe has officially launched in Paris.
La Liste has compiled a list of 1,000 of the world’s best restaurants by collecting reviews from leading review sites and guidebooks such as Gault Millau and The Good Food Guide.
Ten Australian restaurants made the cut including Vue Du Monde and Attica in Melbourne and Quay and Rockpool in Sydney, each of which made the top 100. Other Australian restaurants featured on the list included Jonah’s at Whale Beach, Sixpenny at Stanmore and Brae at Birregura amongst others.
France and Japan led the charge, both with over 100 restaurants featured on the list, this was followed closely by the United States. China, Spain, Germany and Italy also featured strongly with over 50 restaurants each on the list.
“The aim of this list isn’t to pass judgement or rank gastronomic cultures but simply to compile reviews to form one list – the best of the best when it comes to restaurants all around the world”, said Atout France Australia–New Zealand’s director, Patrick Benhamou.
The launch of La Liste also saw awards presented to restaurants and chefs across numerous categories including: Most Awarded Chef, Best Mentor, Best Service, Best Wine List, Best Atmosphere, Sustainable Dining and the Top 10 restaurants.
